Abigail Ruth Bruner Willis died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Brookdale in Russellville after a short battle of Alzheimers.

She was born February 26, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Sadie Zelda Balkin and Fred Bruner. After WW II the family moved to Shirley, AR. She graduated from Shirley High School and attended Arkansas Tech for 3 semesters, where she met and married her husband, Bobby Gene Willis.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl, who died while an infant; her brother, Fred, Jr. who was killed in action in France in WWII, and her parents who were killed in a car wreck on the way to her wedding.

Her main goal in life was to be a wife and mother. She was a life long Methodist that loved the Lord. For her love, the Lord rewarded her with a loving husband, three sons, a daughter, and never having to worry about money.

She married her husband, Bobby Gene Willis, January 23, 1954. They lived in Stillwater, OK; Wichita, KN; Las Cruces, NM; San Jose, CA; Huntsville, AL and Austin, TX; before moving back to her husband's Mother's home in Dardanelle in 1993.

They were active in the Methodist church wherever they lived, and were active in establishing new Methodist Churches in San Jose, Huntsville and Austin.

She was active in the Eastern Star, serving as leader for the Rainbow Girls, and was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Council Oaks Chapter in Dardanelle several times.

She was a cub scout den mother, and supported her sons in scouting. Two are Eagles. As a result of the scouting activity, when her husband retired, they bought a travel trailer, and for next three decades traveled the southwestern US and Canada, driving to such places as Fairbanks, AK, Yellowknife in Canada's Northwest Territory and Gander, Newfoundland.

She remembered traveling on a train in Illinois when she was in grade school. Through out her life she love riding trains and would ride a train to anywhere.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bobby Gene Willis.

her son, David Glen Willis and his wife, Colleen, of Mabank, TX, and their three sons and               daughter.

her son Edward Gary Willis, of Rogers AR; and his two sons.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, February 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, 2:00P.M. to 4:00P.M. at Cornwell Chapel.
