Aleen Mitchell age 88, of Danville passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

Aleen was born March 24, 1928 in Prattsville, Arkansas to the late Fred & Zelma Duncan Moore. Aleen was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and mother. She was very active at the Millsap Senior Center where she loved quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alex "Hookey" Mitchell; brothers, Bobby and Bill Moore; sisters, Faye Dell Williams, Freddie Lee Moore, and Peggy Lowery; grandson, Justin Mitchell Gilkey.

Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Betty & Jerry Gilkey of Fort Smith; Judy & Jim Cannon of Murfreesboro; Shelly & Brian White of Searcy; brother & sister-in-law, Terry & Brenda Moore of Sheridan; grandchildren, Wade Gilkey of Fort Smith, Alex and Andrew White of Searcy, Amy Markham of Little Rock, Ashley Mounts of North Little Rock, Andrea Terrell of Fort Smith; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Terry & Brenda Moore of Sheridan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Sheets officiating.

Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Wade Gilkey, Steve Markham, Dr. Jason Mounts, Dr. John David Terrell, Alex White and Andrew White.
