Alice Dale Whala age 88 of Bluffton passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Mitchell's Nursing Home.
She was born October 8, 1928 in Bluffton, Arkansas to the late Otis Bryan & Lou Alice Williams Billingsley. Alice was a member of the Church of Christ, and she was a mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Whala; daughters, Barbara Dale Mitchell; Debra Ann Sherrill; Peggy Jeanette Hudson; son, Lester Allen "Sam" Whala; sisters, Imogene Walters; Evelyn Mitchell; and brother, Darrell Billingsley.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Jean Tabor of Springfield, OR; Iva Lou Meyers of McLouth, Kansas; sisters, Gwen May of Texas; Louetta Hance of Ola; brother, Dexter Billingsley of Bluffton; 15 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Danville Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Tabor officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service at the chapel. Burial will be at Bluffton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
