Obituary

Allie Jean Moudy, age 97, of Danville, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Chambers Memorial Hospital, in Danville. She was born August 7,1924, in Belleville, Arkansas, to the late Forrest V. and Eulurle Copeland Cobb.

In 1941, Allie Jean graduated from Belleville High School; then, in 1943, she earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas. Following college, she taught school in Belleville. During World War II, she worked in the U.S. Navy Ammunition Depot in McAlester, Oklahoma, labeling ammunition.

On May 12, 1945, she married Linton Moudy. They were married for 63 years. After Linton completed college and his military service, they moved to Danville where they resided for the remainder of their lifetime.

Allie Jean was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and a member of First Baptist Church, Danville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Linton, and her parents and step-mother, Eula Watkins Cobb.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Forrest and Sandra Moudy, of Danville; grandchildren and spouses, Ross and Melissa Moudy of Pottsville; Susan and Matthew Millsap of Kansas City, Missouri; Marcus Cobb Moudy of Danville; great-grandchildren,
Karsyn and Eli Moudy; Natalie, Parker, and Sawyer Millsap; Katelyn McConnell, and AllieRue Moudy; sisters-in-law, Louise Hayes of Morrilton, and Kathy Moudy of El Dorado; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation is planned for Friday, July 1, from 6-8pm at Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2pm, at First Baptist Church, with Bro. Daniel Morris officiating. Burial will be held at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ross Moudy, Marcus Moudy, Bob Pledger, Dr. George Richison, Wesley Kemp, Charlie Wilkins, Johnny Chambers, and Ryan Davis.
Honorary pallbearers included Wayne Bass, the deacons of First Baptist Church, Danville, and the Sunday School Class taught by Forrest Moudy.
