Duwayne Hunnicutt, of Russellville, Arkansas, was wrapped in the arms of Jesus, and escorted to is heavenly home, Monday, December 26 th , 2022, 2:24 P. M., at Mitchell's Nursing Home, Danville, Arkansas.
Duwayne was born March 6th, 1928, in Gravelly, Arkansas to C. E. & Lula Hunnicutt. After marrying the love of his life, Christean Wood, he and Christean moved to California. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville, Arkansas, and a former member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Camarillo, California for 45 years, where he served in different positions in the church.
Duwayne was the foreman of a citrus & avocado ranch in the Somis area for many years, and in the later years, was foreman of a citrus and avocado ranch, owed by a professional Dallas Cowboys field goal kicking specialist, Danny Villanueva. After retiring, in 1993, he and Christean moved back to Russellville, Arkansas.
He was a devoted musician and singer, and enjoyed making music with friends in California, as well as in Arkansas. He especially enjoyed the teenage years of his music life as a member of the Fourche Valley Ramblers.
Survivors include his son, Ken, two Grandchildren, Meredith and Alex, of Wenatchee, Washington, and a brother Delmas Hunnicutt, of Lowell, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members.
Mr. Hunnicutt was preceded in death by his wife, Christean Hunnicutt, Son, Larry Allan Hunnicutt, parents, C. E. & Lula Hunnicutt, sisters, Audie Bottoms, Leola Wagner, Elsie Kitchens, brothers, Alja Hunnicutt, Troy Hunnicutt, and numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers are Grady Hunnicutt, Jackie Aikman, James Aikman, Chris Briggs, John Lonon, Butch Garner.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Kevin Beavers, Robert Mitchell, Phil Moudy, Harold Pierce.
The funeral service for Mr. Hunnicutt will be Friday, December 30, 2:00 p.m. at Gravelly, Arkansas Methodist Church with Rev. Delmas Hunnicutt officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday before the service at the church.
Burial will be at Young Gravelly Cemetery.
