Angela Swanlund, 55, of Lamar, AR, passed away Thursday evening, March 10, 2022 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, Russellville, AR.

Angie was born in Dardanelle, AR on July 6, 1966, the only child of Everett "Cob" Bledsaw and Violet (Partin) Bledsaw.  She attended school in Havana, AR and Perryville, AR.  In 1980, her parents moved to Burlington, KS, where her father worked during the construction of Wolf Creek Generating Station.  She graduated from Burlington High School in 1984.

She worked many jobs over the years, but one of her favorites was as a radio DJ.  She was one of the original DJ's at KSNP-FM in Burlington, KS, and later at KZOC-FM in Osage City, KS.  She also had a passion for writing fiction, and was a published author.  Later in life, she worked at Blossomberry Nursery in Clarksville, AR, and developed a passion for gardening; and, along with her mother, operated The Rusty Hoe, a fruit and vegetable stand in Lamar, AR.  She loved animals, and almost always had pets or other animals that she was caring for.

She married Gary Decker on May 26, 1984 in Burlington, KS.  They were the parents of a son and a daughter.  They later divorced.  She married Tracy Swanlund on November 11, 1992 in Roseville, AR.  They were the parents of one son.  Tracy preceded her in death on June 17, 2011.

She leaves her children, Adam Decker, Little Rock, AR; Sara Smith (Russell), El Dorado, KS; and Tyler Swanlund, Ozone, AR; one granddaughter, Legacee Decker, Fort Smith, AR; and her parents, Everett and Violet Bledsaw, Lamar, AR.

Cremation is planned.  Interment of ashes will be Wednesday, March 16, 2:00 pm at Rock Creek Cemetery near Waveland, AR.  Flowers may be sent to Cornwell Funeral Home, 207 Quay St, Dardanelle, AR 72834.
