Anna Love Harmon Parsley, 94, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, died on July 29, 2011,at Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she had been under the care of her family for eight years. Mrs. Parsley was born July 15, l917, in Dardanelle and was a descendant of a pioneer family, David C. and Anna Elizabeth Love, who helped to build the community. She was the daughter of Kathryn Love Harmon and Haynes Allen Harmon. Mrs. Parsley was married to the former deputy prosecutor and city attorney Kenneth M. Parsley of Dardanelle for almost sixty years. She was a loving mother and an inspiration to her daughter, Pamela Her granddaughters, Mandy Patterson and Amy Whorton, were a constant joy in her life. Mrs. Parsley was an educator in the Dardanelle Public Schools for thirty years. She was a born teacher who felt fortunate to be a part of her students education. She was fondly known as Miss Anna Love by her students. She attended Arkansas Tech University and Arkansas State Teachers College. She was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Parsley was also a member of the Dardanelle Book Club. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Parsley McDowell of Hot Springs, formerly of Hope, a granddaughter Amanda McDowell Patterson and husband Trent Patterson of Richmond, Virginia, a granddaughter Amy Love McDowell Whorton and husband Dr. Greg Whorton of Hot Springs, four great-children, Hannah, Hayes, and Helen Claire Whorton of Hot Springs and Jack Patterson of Richmond, Virginia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, at First United Methodist Church , Dardanelle. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Dardanelle or Arkansas Hospice.
