Obituary

Anna Jo Hatfield Lampkins, 94, of Dardanelle, Ark. passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born February 10, 1919, in Yell County to Will and Etta Hatfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Wilburn Taylor and Edwin L. Lampkins; son, Bill Taylor; grandson, Craig Taylor; granddaughter, Judy Taylor; two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ed and Barbara Taylor of Danville; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Ron Merritt of Dardanelle; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ; a member of the Home Extension Service having been an active member for 50 years; a leader with the Girls Scouts of America receiving a 10 year Leaders Award; 4-H Leader; and she was particularly proud that she and her late husband, Leo, were once named Yell County Farm Family of the Year. One of her favorite activities was participating in the Yell County Fair where she received many blue ribbons for her canned goods and flowers. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 24, 2014 at Brearley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Brad Taylor, Mike, Mark and Chris Merritt, Doug Robinson and Dalton Rial.
