Austin Michael Garner age 29 of Horn Lake Mississippi died Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born February 23, 1988 in Russellville to Michael Timothy and April Lynn Morell Garner. He was a 2006 graduate of Dardanelle High School and an Advanced Services Technician for the MISTRAS Group. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Florene Garner; Great Grandparents Herbert and Katherine Morell of Centerville, Ola Matlock and Russell Young and Vernon Matlock all of Keota, Oklahoma; Ted A Garner and Marie Perker of San Antonio, TX; aunt, Cynthia Garner Kelsey; uncle Louis Morgan Cox, Sr., and cousin Louis Morgan Cox, Jr.

Survivors include his parents, Michael and April Garner of Dardanelle; one sister, Christine Garner and fiancé, Lukas Johnston; grandparents, Doug and Martha Morell of Centerville; aunts, Sherry Morell of Centerville, Brenda and Larry Cunningham of Dardanelle, Trish and Ted Weisenbach of Centerville, Liz Cox of Rogers; uncles, Doug Morell Jr and wife Stacie of Centerville, Ted Garner and wife Cynthia of Montecito, California and many cousins, and countless friends.

Austin loved his family more than anything else in this world and enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays together, often cooking fabulous meals to share. He loved nature and the outdoors he enjoyed shooting sports, and was an avid long distance shooter. He enjoyed fishing and catching snakes and other reptiles. In high school he played football and also played tuba in the marching band, making a "quick change" at half-time. His love for music also included playing bass guitar and listening to heavy metal. Austin had a love for martial arts as a young boy and developed his skills as a young man, earning his third degree black belt in Taekwondo, belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as a career in Mixed Martial Arts. The "gentle giant" could often be found teaching young students the basics of Taekwondo as a youth instructor at Martial Arts America in Russellville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 P.M. To 8:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Petillo Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matt Hickman, Jacob Morell, Blake Hickman, Kurt Reed, Elliot Hawkins, and David Standridge. Honorary Pall bearers are Kyle Reed, Doug Garner, Daniel Niven, Brittney Reed, John Delbusto, Jonathan Titsworth, Jonathan Weatherford, D.C. Miles, Bill Ralston, Eric Wagner, Mark Gacsy, and Dereck Fowler.
