Barbara Crow McConnell passed to her eternal home on August 21, 2021. She was born May 27, 1935 to Mary Lou and Gail Crow of Centerville, AR. She led a happy childhood with her siblings Tommy Crow and JoAnn Fulkerson. She graduated as class valedictorian in 1953 from Ola High School. At age 19, she married Ruben McConnell with whom she had three children and many happy years of marriage.

Barbara shared her love of literature and brightened the lives of many children working in the library at Oakland Heights Elementary School for over 20 years. During her retirement, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dardanelle and the Dardanelle Rock Chapter of the DAR. She served her community in numerous ways through her membership in the UMW.

Barbara, lovingly known as Barbie, valued her family above all things. She generously opened her home to many friends and family members throughout her life, and collected and uplifted those around her until her last days. She always kept a sense of humor and a ready smile.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Cindy Barton and husband Alan, daughter Laura Chism and husband Kerry, son Kenneth McConnell and wife Stephanie, her 5 grandchildren Rachel Sandidge and husband Matt, Katie Martin and husband Trevor, Lindsey Meier and husband Scott, Emily McDannald and husband Ben, Travis Chism and wife Jenny, and three great-grandchildren Mattie Sandidge, Zoe Sandidge, and Samuel Meier.

Graveside service with Brother Jim Benfer Saturday, September 4, at 10:00 a.m. - Ard Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Memorial donations can be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
