Beatrice Jeanette (Kimbrough) Thacker, 94, of Danville, Arkansas, passed away on January 30, 2023. She was born in 1928 to Willie and Jessie Kimbrough of Moss Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 72 years, Robert; sister, Faye; brother, Dale; and infant brother, Odis. Jeanette leaves behind daughter, Deborah; son, Roger, and his wife, Billie Jo; sisters Pauline and Modean; as well as three grandchildren, Cheryl Davidson; Jeff Gillespie and wife Mandy; and Lacey Thacker. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Scott Gillespie and wife Meaghan; Monica Davidson and spouse Eowyn; Reese Davidson; Hong Davidson; Justin Gillespie; and Caroline Gillespie; great-great grandchildren Saoirse, Shannon, Jack, and Noah; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was an ardent supporter of a children's home, remembering as she did what it was like to grow up in poverty, albeit with a loving family. Her grandchildren will always remember her soft, cool hands rubbing their necks before bed, or patting their tummies if they felt ill. Though her health was a constant struggle through her life, she persevered, learning about nutrition so she could stay as healthy as possible–an interest that served her well when she, as her husband told their doctor, began to manage his blood sugar with diet so he never became diabetic. From the time they married in 1947, the two were true partners, and together they raised a devoted family.

Services will be held Saturday, February 4, at the First Baptist Church in Danville. Visitation will be held at 1pm, with the funeral at 2pm. All are welcome. Pallbearers will be Dennis Tidwell, Tony Derrick, Jeff Gillespie, Justin Gillespie, Parker Mayea, and Scott Gillespie
