Bessie Pauline "Polly" Merritt age 90 of Dardanelle passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at Mitchells Nursing Home in Danville. She was born September 30, 1929 at Yell County, Arkansas to the late Seth Coffey and Cleo Croy Coffey. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, the E.H. Club, garden club and book club. She was involved in the family business, the Yell County Gin with her husband Delma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Lavada Benefield, Adaline McCurdy, George Coffey, Jack Coffey, May Jones, Ed Coffey, Mary Ann Bullard, Betty Scott and Jim Coffey.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Delma Merritt; three children, Dane Merritt, David Merritt (Kay), Teresa Hansen DeMier (Will); six grandchildren, Jason Merritt (Kathleen), Jake Merritt (Allison), Marissa Pierson (Brandon), Dylan Merritt (Alicia), Natalie Brown (Cody), Michelle Hansen and eight great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Bro. Jim Benfur officiating.
