Betty Carlyon Smith age 82 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born April 11, 1930 in Dardanelle to the late Don and Sally Smith Tillmon. She retired after 38 years from Berry Drug Store in Dardanelle and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle. Betty loved sports and most of all her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin James Smith and a daughter, Sally Ann Smith. Survivors include three sons; Bill Smith and wife Betty, Thomas Smith and wife Sharon all of Dardanelle and James Smith and wife Pamala of Judsonia; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 2:00 Friday, October 26, 2012 at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Kelly Pearson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Dardanelle. Pallbearers will be Frankie Pennington, Bryant Smith, Brandon Smith, Jacob D'Angelo, Tom Berryhill and Carl Cross.
