Obituary

Betty Lou Yancy David age 92 died Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Betty was born September 16, 1931 in Belleville, Arkansas to Tony & Mary Sides Yancy. She was a member of the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church and the E.H. Club. She spent her early years of adulthood as a homemaker and raising her children, who were her pride and joy. She enjoyed special times with her grandchildren. During her last years at Mitchell's Nursing Home her pastime was working jigsaw puzzles. She was lovingly know as the puzzle lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ed David; father, Tony Yancy; mother and step-father, Mary and Clifford King; and brother, Quinton Yancy.

She is survived by her sons, Terry David of Rogers; Brian David (Nancy) of El Dorado Hills, CA.; James David of Torrance, CA.; sister and her husband, Janelle & Louis DeLisle; step-sister, Violet Garner of Carlsbad, CA.; grandsons, Jonathan (Jace) David and Michael David; granddaughters, Sarah Schneider (Joseph); Rebecca David; Jessica David;  Callie Cram (Tim); Cailtin Akers (Andrew); Collen David; and Katie Kantor; 9 great-grandchildren; special niece, Beverly Stautz; and a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Carmen at Mitchell's Nursing Home and the staff at Mitchell's Nursing Home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Steve Downum and Jamie Travis officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, May 17, at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will be at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Terry David, Brian David, James David, Louie DeLisle, Joshua Walters and Jerry Payne.

Honorary pallbearers include Leo Wilcox, Robert Mitchell, Dr. John Westwood, Harlon Patton, Kent Dennis, and Johnny George.

The family wishes to thank Robert Mitchell and the staff at Mitchell's Nursing Home for their loving care of Betty for the past year.
