Bill
Storts
February 7, 1933 – April 7, 2018
William J. "Bill" Storts of Havana, AR departed for Heaven on April 7, 2018 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. Bill was born February 7, 1933 at Driggs, AR to Uyleas & Zona Storts. He was a pastor, teacher, coach, mentor, farmer & friend.
Bill's parents and four brothers preceded him in death. His wife of 66 years, Glenna Ryan Storts, survives him. Also, his four children, Don (Julie) Storts of Springdale, AR, Yvonne (Charlie) Bennett of Havana, AR, Colleen (Silas) Foster of Springdale, Paul (Barbara) Storts of Havana. Bill was proud Poppa to ten grandchildren: Kris Daniels, Jennifer Livingston, Jason Wallace, Phil Renfro, Carly Franklin, Josh Wallace, Matt Storts, Jordyn Murray, Mark Storts, and Luke Barnard. Poppa loved children, & was thankful for his 22 great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his sister, Pat Eckner, of Broken Bow, OK, his brother, Jerry Storts, of Yuma, AZ, and sister, Brenda Bramlett, of Russellville, AR, and by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
To others, Bro. Bill was their pastor at Havana First Baptist, Moore's Chapel, Pleasant View-Russellville, Plainview, and Grace Baptist-Belleville for 58 years. He witnessed to them, baptized them, performed their wedding or funeral, or been their friend on the street, visiting their home or when sick. If not, he may have been their teacher, coach, or mentor at Paris, Havana, Magazine, Belleville, or Russellville High School for 27 years. He served in the Korean War before receiving his bachelor's degree from California Baptist College in Riverside, CA with a double major in Sociology/Bible. Having two small children already, he would take classes all day, work on campus, then clean buildings at night, &/or lead worship music in revivals all over So. California. He was the hardest worker we have ever known! He loved cattle farming and still was (with Momma's help). He loved to talk to them and care for them. He loved the four children they had, and all the grandchildren & great-grandchildren filled his life with joy. But, most of all he loved the Lord with ALL his heart, soul and mind, and cherished sharing Christ with others!
A memorial & celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Havana First Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Gower officiating and Bro. Charlie Bird assisting. Visitation was on Monday, April 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the church, as well.
Burial will be at the Blue Mountain Cemetery, Blue Mtn. Arkansas.
