Obituary

Billie Carol Avery-Sharp, 85, of Ola, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025.
She was born on July 9, 1940, in Ola, Arkansas, to Lonnie Avery and Frances Thacker-Avery. Billie was born at home by Ola Lake.
She spent much of her life in Yell county.
Billie attended Ola elementary and high school. She attended business school as well as a nursing program where she received her LPN training.
She worked as a nurse at Baptist hospital, Dardanelle nursing home and spent several years working as a home health nurse.
After helping raise 4 step children and her 2 daughters Billie worked as a nanny for 6 years.

Billie was best known for her caring and compassion for seniors.
She joined the Senior Companion Program in July of 2005.
She became the Volunteer Coordinator for Yell County and served in that capacity until 2018.

Billie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three children: Debbie Foster, Myra Johnson (Dave), and Dan Rochelle (Elizabeth);
10 grandchildren:
Clayton Parker (Danielle) Stephanie Nicklaus, Christopher Staggs, Rowan Grey (Tony Rivenbark), Sarah Marquez (Vince), Hannah Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Reuben Johnson (Chantel), Abigail Licea (Salvador), and Gabrielle;
as well as great-grandchildren Shelby (Brody) Candace, Angela, Gabriel, Xander, William, Nya, Noah, Rafael, Emma, Naomi, Katarina, and Lucas. She also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren Ripken, Beckett, Maddux, and Waylon.

As well as her 2 brothers, Robert Avery of Ola and Gerald Avery of Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Veron (Ben) Sharp, her grandson William Johnson, and her great-great-granddaughter Addilynne Lauren.

Billie will be remembered for her outgoing and kind personality.
She was always willing to be of service to friends and strangers alike. She touched many lives with her warmth, generosity and wisdom. She gave sound advice such as: "Every dark cloud has a silver lining, you just have to look for it."

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Jan Vess for her friendship and loving care for Billie in her last years of life.

Billie's legacy lives on in the generations she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
