Billy "Bill"
Boyd Stevens
April 2, 1953 – November 28, 2025
Billy Boyd Stevens, born April 2, 1953, in Ripon, Wisconsin, passed away on November 27, 2025 in Dardanelle, Arkansas, at home with his wife, Cindy Stevens — whom he lovingly called his Baby and his Doll — and his oldest son, Jeremiah, by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his sons Jeremiah and Zechariah; Jeremiah's husband, Michael Elam; Zechariah's wife, Donna; and his beloved pets, Ollie and Georgie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence "Sarge" Stevens and Hilda Stevens, and his brother Rick Stevens.
Billy began life as a farmer before dedicating most of his working years to keeping people connected as a telephone line splicer across multiple states. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era — a service he felt deeply, with both pride and complexity.
He was a protector at heart, raised by a military father during hard times, and he lived with a fierce instinct to defend his family and stand for what he believed was right.
Outside of work, he loved watching TV, gardening, building things from wood, and caring for the feral cats that waited for him every day. Billy had an inquisitive mind and a humor all his own. He made up nicknames when he couldn't remember names and often said:
"If I was any better, I'd have to be two people," and
"That's funny right there. I don't care who you are."
He fought his whole life — and after 72 years, he can finally be at rest.
