Billy Carroll

Billy Carroll Ingram, 72, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas, departed this earthly life on February 20, 2023 in Branson, Missouri. He was born to Billy Jack and Nancy Colburn Ingram on November 9, 1950, at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas. Bill graduated from Russellville High School in 1969. He attended Arkansas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in 1973; and later earned his Master's Degree. He began his teaching career in the Science Department at Dardanelle High School, where he taught for 13 years. During his tenure at Dardanelle, he sponsored the Science Club. In 1979-1981, he and the student members created an outdoor classroom on the top of Dardanelle Rock. After leaving Dardanelle, he taught in Jasper, Arkansas and then moved to Texas. While living in Texas, he taught at several public schools across the state. He also obtained his Administrator's Certification and was a Principal at Groesbeck High School and Ponder High School. He left Administration and returned to the classroom. He finished his 47 year teaching career as the Science Department Chair for Ft. Worth ISD and Diamond Hill Jarvis High School; where he worked along side his best friend, Mr. Bill Hudson. After he retired, he furthered his education by earning a Doctorate in Environmental Science from State University of New York.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed photography, yardwork, fishing, and visiting state parks, his favorite being Mt. Nebo. He was also a Master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Jack and Nancy Ingram.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ingram; his daughters, Ashleigh Ingram McMillian of Russellville, Arkansas, Hannah (Josh) Guest of Tampa, Florida; his son, Jack (Josie) Ingram of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Drake McMillian of Russellville, Arkansas, Kennedy and Harrison Guest of Tampa, Florida, Iris Ingram of Denton, Texas. Other survivors include his siter, Vicki Ingram Sheppard of Cabot, Arkansas, and her two sons, Corey (Erin) Sheppard of Roanoke, Virginia and Brian (Amy) Ford of Conway, Arkansas; as well as five great-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Dardanelle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Monday, 9:00A.M. to 10:00A.M. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle.
Pallbearers will be Drake McMillian, Josh Guest, Jack Ingram, Brian Ford, Al Davidson and Randy Joe Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Humanities Council.
