Ted Johnson Ted Johnson age 71 of Birta died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born January 19, 1942 at Maude, Texas to the late Ted and Helen Rose Jones Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Jane "Susie" Sorochuk. Survivors include his wife, Verna Hewitt Johnson of Birta; daughter, Melinda Keeley of Nampa, ID; brother, George Johnson of Little Rock; two sisters, Linda McElderry of Greeley, CO, Judy Taylor of Noxson, MT. and four grandsons. Family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home and River Valley Cremations in Dardanelle.
