Bobby Dwayne McWhirter age 75 of Russellville formerly of Clarendon died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1938 at Decatur, TX to the late Marvin Clarence and Mary Ruth Smith McWhirter. He was A United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Bob also loved traveling, hunting, law enforcement, and watching western movies especially John Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin McWhirter Jr. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ellen Lesta McWhirter of Russellville, formerly of Clarendon; three children, Craig McWhirter and wife Dianna, Kellie Kite, Nena Kopecek and husband Peter all of Texas; adopted son, Gary Branham and wife Janet of Missouri; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. The family will hold a Memorial Service Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Sunset Point on top of Mt. Nebo State Park.
