Bonnie S. Powell, age 85 of Dardanelle, died April 4, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 2, 1936 in Johnson County, Arkansas. Her parents were Morgan Short, Earnest and Rose Harper. Bonnie graduated from Clarksville High School and received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern Kansas University and a Master's Degree from University of Central Arkansas. Bonnie was inspired to become a teacher by example of a former teacher of her own, Silvia Fraser. During her 31 years in the Ola Schools, she taught English, Music and Business Classes as well as Counselor, Yearbook Sponsor, Future Business Leaders of America Sponsor, junior and senior class sponsor and sponsor of a Spanish support group. Also with her great love of music she played piano and organ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life of 53 years, Kenneth R. Powell.

Bonnie is survived by cousins-in-law and countless students she taught and inspired.

Mass will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Dardanelle with Father martin Amaro officiating.
