Boyd Dale
Knight
June 26, 1938 – August 11, 2024
Boyd Dale Knight lived a full eighty-six years of life. Dale was born June 26, 1938 in a log cabin near Spring Creek and spent the majority of his large life in his much loved town of Belleville, Arkansas. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Grace Bland Knight, for sixty-seven years. Dale and Mary were married on November 1st, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, and returned home to Arkansas in 1961 for the birth of their daughter Stephanie. Dale was the proud father of Stephanie Ann Crawford, and Papa of Kendall Crawford, Kelsey Crawford, and Katie Crawford-Hopkins. He was the son of the late Fred Knight and Sarah Lavada Hale Knight both of Belleville.
Dale was full of life, the hardest of workers, and a generous man. He spent thirty-five years (1972-2007) at Knight's Station fixing flats, changing oil, pumping gas, sweeping, and playing pranks. The "Station" became home to Dale, Mary and Stephanie since they spent most of seven days a week there for many years. Dale and Mary are loyal members of Wilson Freewill Baptist Church where Dale has served as a deacon and song leader for over thirty years. Dale was often singing; he always had a song on his heart. He was a happy man. He loved to spend time at church, work in his garden, fish at Cedar Piney, and go for drives, especially driving to Booneville Sonic with Mary, for his all too familiar Number 1 medium combo. His favorite pastime was doing all kinds of things to make Mary yell, "DALE!"
Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Fred Knight and Sarah Lavada Hale Knight, brothers: Dalton Coogan Knight, Samuel (Delena) Knight, Jackie (Sandra) Knight, and sisters Lela Bell (Waymon) Sherrill, and Molly Jean Knight.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Bland Knight, daughter, Stephanie Crawford and husband Wayne, granddaughters Kendall Crawford, Kelsey Crawford, and Katie Crawford-Hopkins and grandson-in-law Robert Hopkins, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dale held to this promise
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Pallbearers: Wayne Crawford, Robert Hopkins, Bobby Chambers, Mark King, Bruce Bland, Greg Bland, and Joe Knight
Honorary Pallbearers: L.W. Bell, James Hood, Eddie Knight, Fred Knight, Bill Dickey, Mike Woods, Tinker Hefner, and the Belleville Sr. Class of 1956
