Brenda Fay Gist age 76 of Centerville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Dickson, Tennessee. She was born August 3, 1949 in Marianna, Arkansas to the late Everette Hicks and Martha Beck Hicks. Our mama was a strong and loving woman who meant everything to our family. She showed us what courage, kindness, and unconditional love look like every day. Her strength carried us, her laughter lifted us, and her love will stay with us forever. We are heartbroken, but so grateful for the time we had with her. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Gist; two brothers, Everette Hicks Jr., Edward Hicks and a daughter, Shirley Barnes.

Survivors include her six children, Jim Morgan, Terri Benefield (Johnnie), Steven Morgan (Melanie), Megan Morgan Jackson, Jackie Gist, Angela Mathis (Zach); two brothers, Thomas Hicks (Sandy), Jimmy Hicks (Nancy); one sister, Belinda Wise (Ricky); fifteen grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Brittany, Johnathon, Sarah, Braden, Kimberly, Paige, Madison, Chase, Haze, Seth, Jazmyn, Izaiah, Kynzee and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00P.M. to 2:00P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be in Needmore Cemetery in Casa.
