Buford Levi "B.L." "Red" Tatum Jr. age 84 of Danville passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1927 to the late Buford Levi & Novella Walker Tatum Sr. He was a Navy Veteran, an retired professor from Arkansas Tech University, an member of Danville United Methodist Church, retired Chief of Fisheries in North Carolina ,retired Chief of Fisheries in Oklahoma and Danville Master Mason Lodge #41. Preceded in death wife of 57 years Martha Lee Tatum; brother Bill Tatum; sister & brother-in-law Catherine & Dick Maples. Survivors include son &daughter-in-law Todd & Mellissa Tatum of Danville; brother & sister-in-law Tommy & Janelle Tatum of Danville; sister-in-law Georgiana Tatum of Dardanelle; grandson Dalton Lee & Peyton Buford Tatum of Danville; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Danville United Methodist Church with Bro. John McCourt and Rev.Tom Sullinger officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Wilmer Beachy, J.C. Frost, Adam Taylor, Tom Tatum II, Jeff Wilson and Richard Bradford.
