Obituary

Carl Jay Potter, age 71 of Plainview passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at his home in Carter Cove. He was born August 8, 1952 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas to the late Roscoe "Boots" and Rutha (Qualls) Potter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney Potter; and sisters, Ruby Yett, Rita Godwin, Janice Caldwell and Judy Boothe.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sandra Diane (Crain) Potter; daughter, Carla (Raini) Potter; twin sister, Carol Blees (Mike); grandsons, Skylar Cano (Madeline) and Spencer Cano; several nieces and nephews and one fur baby, Bruno Mars.

After graduating from Fouche Valley School where he later served as board member, he joined the Army where he got honor graduate of heavy equipment. After being discharged, he worked as a forestry tech and later became a forestry support contractor.

He was a big Razorback fan, TV enthusiast and loved talking on the phone and visiting with friends. One could say he never met a stranger. You could say a stranger to him was a friend he had to meet. Everyone loved his laugh, he was witty and was quick with a "come back".

Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 to 7:00 pm February 29, at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville, AR.  There will be graveside service Friday 2:00 pm March 1, 2024 at the Killian Cemetery in Aly, AR. with Herbert Jones and Skylar Cano officiating.

Pallbearers include Johnny Smith, Skylar Cano, Spencer Cano, Cotton Morrison, Bruce Lewis, Keith Shaddel, and Chad Geisler.

Honorary pallbearers include Larry Norman, Tommy Crain, Junior Crain, Kenneth Wallace, Erik Wallace, and Frank Stuart.
