Obituary

Catherine Janet (Jan) Huntley

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and sister, Catherine Janet (Jan) Huntley, who left this world peacefully on August 16, 2025 at the age of 69.

Jan was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. She devoted her life to her family, always placing others before herself.  Her warmth filled every room she entered and her laughter was a light that brought joy to all who knew her. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard and cherished.

Jan was the first of two born on June 26, 1956 in Russellville, Arkansas.  Jan lived a life marked by kindness, resilience and generosity.  She built a home that was not only a place of comfort and safety but also a haven of love and encouragement.  Her girls and grandchildren were the pride of her life, and she poured into them lessons of compassion, hardwork, and faith.

Jan was not only a wonderful mother but also a true friend, confidant, and role model. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the countless memories we hold close to our hearts.

Jan is reunited in peace with Robert B.  & Maxine Cox Fowler, sister Mary Fisher, brother Wayne Bryant Folwer and Little Will Fowler. She is survived by her two daughters Billie Taylor of Lamar. Bobbie and Wilbert Alfonzo of Van Buren. Twin sister Ann and Jim Bryant of Kingston.  Brother Tommy and Lio Fowler of Las Vegas, Nevada.  Brother in law David Fisher of Danville. Uncle Richard Woolfolk of Nixa, Missouri.  Grandchildren Brett Fowler, Blakelynn and Dallas Brake, Breeanna and Kelton Martin, Bradley and Whittney Fowler, Bethany Alfonzo and Anthony (AJ) Fowler.  Great grandchildren Emmaligh, Mason, Ellie, Grayson, Maleena, Liliana, Ophelia, Elenor, and Weston.  Nephews David B. Folwer and Robert B. Fowler, Niece Stephanie Chesser; and her First Baptist Church of Plainview Family who will forever cherish her love and guidance.

A service to celebrate Jan's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Plainview. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. before the service at the church.  Family  and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life she lived.  Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery.

Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing her love will continue to guide us, and her spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
