Louella McGuire Norris
January 5, 1939 – March 4, 2026

Charles Norris and Louella McGuire Norris, united in life for 68 years, now rest together in eternal peace. Their story was one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and a deep devotion to family, faith, and community.

Charles was born in Rover, Arkansas, to William Levi and Ida Floe Crites Norris. Louella was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas, to Norman Edward McGuire and Annie Ida Banks McGuire. The two were married in 1955 and built a life grounded in love and partnership, raising four children together.

Charles dedicated many years to Tyson Industries, retiring as a warehouse manager in 1996. He proudly served in the Arkansas National Guard and United States Army Reserves, gave back to his community as a Webelo leader and as a member of the Dardanelle City Fire Department for over 20 years, and faithfully served the Lord at Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He found great joy in tending his garden and sharing its abundance with others.

Louella was a devoted mother and gifted storyteller who poured her heart into both her family and her community. She began her writing career with her beloved column, "Kitchen Chatter," in the Courier of Russellville, and went on to cover local, statewide, and national stories, at times contributing to the Associated Press. She later served as Editor of the Post Dispatch in Dardanelle, where her words captured the life and spirit of the community she loved.

Together, Charles and Louella created a home filled with love, laughter, and steadfast faith. Their greatest joy was their family, which grew to include their four children: Rebecca Hopkins (Jacky), Paula Phifer (B.J.), Paul Norris (Coralyne), and Suzanne Easley (Randall); along with a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry their love forward.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, William, James, Claudie and Maxie Norris; and two sisters, Johnnie McElroy and Louise Rich. Louella was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Left to cherish their memory are Louella's brother, Raymond McGuire (Diana); Charles's brother Johnny Norris (Marie); along with many extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab for their compassionate care and love, which allowed them to share many more precious years together.
