Charles (Buddy) Wesley Stokes, age 89, of Ola, Arkansas, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2021, at River Valley Hospice Home. He was born June 18, 1932, in Curtis, Arkansas, a son of the late William Albert and Hattie Palmer Stokes. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Stokes, his parents, his twin sister, Charlene Wallace, and sister, Mittie Clayton.

He was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Birta, AR. He was a retired carpenter, painter, and farmer. He enjoyed metal detecting, watching Mountain Men on the Discovery Channel, and classic country music. Buddy, lovingly known as Dude, is survived by his two children, Karen Stokes (Steve Rose) of Ola, and, Keith Stokes (Julie) of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Chase Hubbard (Stephanie) of North Little Rock, Chip Stokes (Lori) of Dardanelle, and Abbey Stokes of Dardanelle; six great grandchildren, Landen Morgan, Ali, Elijah, and Hunter Hubbard, and Colt and Caroline Stokes; two sister-in-laws, Mary Laska and Dorothy Haire of Arp, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Birta Community Cemetery in Birta, AR, with Brother Daniel Conditt and Brother Jon Holbrook officiating.
