Obituary

Clarence Duane "Hoppy" Cowgill age 90, a 5 years resident of Belleville, AR., a longtime resident (64 years) of Coloma, MI. He became a resident of Mitchells Nursing Home in July 2021.

Hoppy entered into internal life on Sunday the 11th of December at 11:47 pm at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR.

Born in Watervliet, Michigan to the late Clarence Alfred & Ruth Woodworth Cowgill. As a younger child he loved the dairy farm he would help his grandpa every chance he got. He was raised in Watervliet until he went into the Army.

He married Roberta Buckley at the age of 19 while in the Army, on October 12, 1951, she was 15. They were blessed with 6 children, 19 grandchildren, and 53 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He loved his children unconditionally.

In his younger years he trained horses which was his true passion. Roy Rogers was who he wanted to be when he grew up. Instead, he was a dad, grandpa, uncle, son, buddy and husband.

He worked at Superior Steel in B H Michigan for years. Then on to Bohn Aluminum when Superior Steel shut down. He was a welder journeyman and could build furnace for the factories he worked for as will as a wood stove for their home that put heat out like a furnace, you would have never guessed it was a wood burning stove.

He loved to tinker and build things, he aways had to keep busy.

He never turned any one down that needed help. No matter what he was there to rescue us.

He is survived by his 6 children, Freda Craig (Phillip) of Belleville; Duane "Wayne" Clarence Cowgill of Coloma, MI.; Patricia "Gail" Sammons of Belleville; Donna "Wendy" Carlene Baldwin of Russellville; Buckley "Ronnie" Ronald Cowgill of Painesville, OH.; Edward "Donnie" Donald Cowgill (Carla) of Winter Haven, FL.; his treasured grandchildren, Rebecca L.
