Clifford Eugene
Dewveall
September 15, 1959 – February 3, 2025
Clifford Eugene Dewveall, born September 15, 1959, passed away peacefully in his Dardanelle home on February 3, 2025. Cliff fought courageously against pancreatic cancer for nearly two years, giving everything he had in hopes of meeting his expected granddaughter, Henley (due in May). He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford B. and Edith Dewveall, his brother, James Dewveall, and his sister, Cheryl Carter. After graduating from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas, he proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Navy. Following his service, he moved to Pope County, Arkansas, where he began a 29-and-a-half-year career at Arkansas Nuclear One.
In 1991, Cliff met and married the love of his life, Denise, with whom he shared 33 wonderful years. He also embraced the role of father to Jesse, and in October 1992, he and Denise welcomed their daughter, Caitlin, completing their family. Cliff was a strong, honorable, and dedicated father, instilling values that shaped his children into the adults they are today.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Denise; daughter, Caitlin Risher (Ryan) of Reston, Virginia; son, Jesse Thurman (Ashley) of Gravette, Arkansas; sisters, Vicki (John), Patti, and Glenda; brother, Scott; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets Roxy, Ringo, Spanky, Storm, Luxy, Lynn, and Layla.
After retirement, Cliff cherished time with his family, passionately cheering for his beloved Texas Longhorns, spending days at the shooting range with his son and daughter, and embracing each day to the fullest alongside his wife.
Cliff was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried weight—always honest, thoughtful, and full of wisdom. He never spoke just to fill the silence; instead, he believed in the power of saying exactly what needed to be said, and nothing more. Those who knew him best cherished his quiet strength, his steady presence, and the rare but profound moments when he shared his thoughts.
Pallbearers, both honorary and active, include colleagues from his career at Arkansas Nuclear One: Jason Baker, Dusty Keys, Terry Walker, Jody Sigle, Jess Coffman, Albert Martin, Marcus Schact, Marcus Cooper, Traci Fisher, and Jeff Horton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to causes Cliff was passionate about: Russellville CARTI, Pope County Animal Shelter, or any of the wonderful River Valley animal rescues.
