Clinton Cates age 85 of Russellville died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at his home. He was born May 18, 1926 at Chickalah to the late Henry Edward and Nora Gideon Cates. He was a 50 year charter member of the Westside Church of Christ, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Disabled Veterans, Carpenters Union 1836 and a charter member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Cathryn DuVall Cates of Russellville; two sons, Paul Cates of Midwest City, OK, Darrell Cates of Pottsville; daughter, June Gray of Hector; one sister, Claudie Corley of Moline, IL; five grandchildren, Bobby Gray, Cory Gray, Carol-Cathryn Gray, Pamela Daniels, Madeline Cates. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Westside Church of Christ with Bro. Bruce Grice, Bro. Stan Chism and Bro. Randy Gray officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home.
