Obituary

David Wayne Brown, age 68, of Dardanelle, Arkansas found eternal rest on October 5, 2016. He was born on January 20, 1948 to Berlin and Maxine Brown in El Paso, Texas. He enlisted as a Marine in 1966 and served in Vietnam and continued to live out the motto Semper Fidelis with all his loved ones. He married the love of his life Joyce Clark on August 21, 1971 and together they raised an exceptional family. He served his community as a Boy Scout leader, former Commander and lifetime member of VFW Post 3141, and a member of the Marine Corps League. He worked at Ladish/Trinity in Russellville for over thirty years and was an avid golfer and hunter. David was a born-again Christian and member of the Palmetto Church of Atkins, Arkansas. His legacy is love, gentleness and faithfulness.

He is preceded in death by his parents Berlin and Maxine Brown; his in-laws D.J. and Idell Clark; his grandson Micah Brown; a sister-in-law Billie Brown; and two brothers-in-law Frank Clark and Eugene Nichols.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of 45 years; one daughter, Amy (Henry) Alvarado of Bentonville, Arkansas; two sons—Jeffrey (Amy) of Nashville, Tennessee and Michael (Makayla) of Bentonville, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren-McKenna, Dylan, Chase, Jenna, Lydia, Hudson, Rebekah, Emily Kate, Whitaker, Heath, and Heidi; three brothers-James Brown of Lubbock, Texas, Michael (Kay) Brown of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Raymond (Belinda) of Derby, Kansas; one sister Becky (Randy) Cordell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law—DeNann Littleton Clark of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Jackie Clark Nichols of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Jill Clark (Rob) McClure of Maumelle, Arkansas, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be Saturday, October 8, at 2pm at Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Interment will be at Brearley Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is Friday, October 7, 6-8pm at Cornwell Funeral Home.
