David Anthony Gocke, age 80, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, Arkansas.
David was born on December 5, 1945, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Anthony Gocke and Caroline (Frego) Gocke. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1964 until July 1970 before dedicating his career to the Little Rock Police Department as a detective. He earned a bachelor's degree, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Eugene “Tony” Gocke and Caroline (Frego) Gocke; his sister, Madeleine Hollands; and his brothers, Michael Gocke, Christopher Gocke, Blaise Gocke, Phillip Gocke, and Joseph Gocke.
David is survived by his children, Kirby Leighanne Gocke and John Gocke; his sisters, Bernadette Gregory, Barbara Longnecker, Mary Anne Bongiovanni, Theresa Rentschler, and Gloria Alexis; his brother, Gregory Gocke; his grandchildren, Jadyn Brianne Whitefield, Emma Gocke, John Lance Gocke, Peter Gocke, James Gocke, Sarah Gocke, and Abigail Gocke; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
David will be remembered for his honor, integrity, courage, and lifelong commitment to serving his country, his community, and his family. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers are Brian McClung, Ronnie Smith, Allen Davis, Samuel Williamson, and Frankny Guzman.
