David Lee "Doc" King age 71 of Plainview, kicked the bucket Sunday, May 12. He was born way back in 1952 to Jr. Bill and Shorty (Blankenship) King. He was the second born son out of five, and according to his mom was the one who was always into something- like tearing the roof off the outhouse. Which thoroughly ticked his dad off…nothing like taking a dump with an unexpected skylight! Doc would later come to use those construction skills to become an excellent carpenter and craftsman. " I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a good time," was one of his mottos- among others we can't print here. He was a 32nd degree Mason, but he would never show us the secret handshake.

Doc enjoyed a lot of life before his golden years…riding back roads, drinking The Beast, smoking his menthols (which ultimately done him in), hunting, fishing and shooting the bull. He didn't take anything seriously, well except watching monkeys and chimpanzees on YouTube lately, now that was some serious stuff. He had a few wives and a bunch of kids, 5 that we know of. There's probably more out there, but hey, no need for you to come forward now, he didn't leave us any inheritance. Doc is survived by all the ex-wives and empty bank account, 3 brothers, his kids Shane, Stacey, Tylor, Taylor and Toby. 10 grandkids and 3 great grandkids.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00P.M., at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery in Ola.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Kyle King, James King, William King, Clint King, Mark King, Bryan King and honorary pallbearers will be his old ANO crew and drinking buddies.
