Obituary

David Aaron Rogers passed away on August 16, 2012 in Casa Grande, Arizona. He was born on Saturday, September 7, 1929 in Alexandria, Arkansas to Thomas Alvin Rogers and Willie Ola Cleghorn. David's life was deeply influenced by Thomas, his father and Willie, his mother during his younger years, both of whom are no longer with us. David was the sibling to brothers, Raymond Billy Rogers and Charles Andy Rogers who are no longer with us; brother, James Thomas Rogers and, sister, Annie Rogers who is no longer with us. During the Korean War, David served as a Corporal in the United States Army from February 2, 1951 to December 9, 1952 and later became a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2283 in Russellville. He was married to the love of his life, Claudette Frances Craven on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1959. While living in Denver, Colorado he worked for the Denver Parks and Recreation Department for 33 years as a Florist Gardener where he had a great love and true passion working with flowers and various types of plants that beautified the grounds of Washington Park. Upon retirement he relocated back to his home state Arkansas. Throughout his life, he loved traveling and being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed photography and making family videos. He will always live in our memories and be in our hearts. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claudette Frances Rogers, his two daughters, Jeanette Lee Haynes of Arizona; Sonia Annette Joiner of Florida and, had a son, David Eugene Rogers of Texas who is no longer with us; his brother, James Thomas Rogers of Arkansas; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle, AR with Military Honors. His final resting place will be at the Historical, Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Arrangements made by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle, AR.
