David Lee Tucker Sr, age 65 of Harkey's Valley (Yell County) died peacefully at his home on Wednesday February 27 2013 in the presence of his family. He was born on December 5, 1947 in Harkey's Valley to the late Bert and Frances Tucker. He was the youngest of eight siblings. He served active duty in the Army National Guard. He later worked as a logger, equipment operator, and mechanic. Among his joys in life were: hunting, trapping, fishing, and mechanical tinkering. He truly enjoyed his freedom and the fellowship of his close friends and family. He was passionate about Harkey's Valley; he was born there, he enjoyed his life there, and he died there; as so many Tuckers before him had. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister - Bertina O'Gwynn, three brothers - James R. Tucker, Joe Tucker, and John Tucker; and a Grandson - Shawn Wilson Tucker. Survivors include one brother - Robert Ray Tucker of Amity Ar.; sisters - Ora Pearl Scott and Mary Detrick, both of Dardanelle; Two sons - David Lee Tucker Jr. and wife Rachel of Harkey's Valley, and Charlie Tucker and wife Ashleigh of Dover; five grandchildren: Adrean, Caleb, Autumn, Hayden and Brandon. Other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Shelly Borden, Terry Tucker, David Tucker Jr, Gary Wolfe, Charlie Tucker, Charles Detrick, James O'Gwynn Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne Grey, Robert Spears, Glen Hayes, Ray Wilkinson, Eddie Wilcox, Cody Hayes, James Jackson, Sicabo Christy, Bill Pitts, Don Nealy, Carl Waters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Harkey's Valley Cemetery.
