Denann Beth
Clark
May 11, 1950 – March 19, 2024
DeNann ("Nann") Clark, age 73 and formerly of Dardanelle, died peacefully in Bentonville, Arkansas, on March 19, 2024.
Nann is survived by her daughter Ashley; brother Tommy; sister Lorie; sisters-in-law Joyce, Jackie, and Jill; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Nann was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband Frank (Frankie); her parents (Robert and Annie Maye); grand-nephew Micah; and her precious pets Fred, Rita, and Haverty.
After graduating from Dardanelle High School and earning her bachelor's degree in special education from Arkansas State University, Nann began her nearly four decade long career as a teacher at the Dardanelle Primary School. Keenly aware of the struggles children often face when learning to read, she dedicated her career to helping students find success with reading.
Nann's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid card player and frequently partnered with her nephew Mike when playing cards around the kitchen table. Notwithstanding the rumors to the contrary, Mike firmly maintains that it was their skill and not any nefarious shenanigans that led to their victories.
She delighted in hosting the annual Jaggers family Thanksgiving. And while known for her Western spaghetti, deviled eggs, and green bean bundles, Nann was always game to share a meal out. The Old South restaurant and any place serving fried catfish were favorite destinations. Offers of an unsweet tea to go were always appreciated and accepted.
Nann loved a good adventure. Whether traveling across the country with her family, shopping for a new Razorback mug to add to her collection, or cheering on her beloved Razorbacks in person, Nann was always ready for fun. Without doubt, Nann's was a well lived life, positively benefiting thousands of lives as an educator, mentor, friend, and caregiver. Her absence will be deeply felt.
To celebrate Nann's life, the family will host a visitation at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel, 207 Quay Street, in Dardanelle, from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, March 22, 2024. A memorial service will also be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 N. 2nd Street, in Dardanelle, at 10am on Saturday, March 23, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Sand Lizard Foundation, P.O. Box 454, Dardanelle, AR, 72834, or the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle.
