Dillie Simmons

Dillie Maxine Simmons age 88 of Jasper died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper. She was born July 23, 1928 at Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late John Wesley and Cora Mitchelle Smith. She was of the Baptist Faith and loved cooking, crocheting, watching wildlife and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Louise Self, Margaret Self, Imogene Spears, Coy Smith, Billy John Smith, Donald Smith, Jerry Smith, Terry Smith.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, JC Simmons; children, Ruby F. Crumpton, John C. Simmons, Shirley D. Warren, Connie J. Burleson; one sister, Mary Cardwell and eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. , Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 12:30PM to 1:30PM at Lewis Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
