Don VanVleet, 78 of Dardanelle, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born February 1, 1936 in Sac County, Iowa to the late George Earl and Katherine Higgins VanVleet. Don was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Howard and two brothers, Tom VanVleet and Charlie VanVleet. Survivors include his wife, Patsy VanVleet of Dardanelle; son, Ray and Sharon Jackson of Casa; daughter, Pam and Randy Brixey of Russellville; brothers, Bill VanVleet, John VanVleet, Jim VanVleet; sisters, Norma Schimmel, Twyla Leeper, Betty Haaf; four grandchildren, Josh Jackson, Jennifer Williams, Jacob Brixey, Jerrick Brixey; and two great grandchildren, Kinsey Williams, and Miley Jackson. Funeral services will be Monday, December 22, 2:00 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Brother Gene Tanner officiating. Burial will be at Birta Cemetery, Birta under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle.
