Doris Gipson

Doris Maxine Womack Gipson, age 83, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016,   at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She was born April 25, 1932, in Smackover, Arkansas, to the late Clifton Ross and MaryAnn Williams Womack. She received degrees from Southwestern Junior College in Keene, TX, a Bachelor of Science from East Texas State University and a Master of Science from East Texas State University in Texarkana, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Reverend Charles L. Gipson; brothers, Clifton W. Womack, Doyle Womack; sisters, Mary Sue Womack, Louise Biehl, Beverley Johnson, Sherrell Womack; and granddaughter, April Renee Gipson.

Survivors include her children: Stephen L. Gipson of Russellville, Mava Ann White Eagle of Austin, TX., Heidi Lansdell of Fayetteville, Charles B. Gipson (Lisa) of Knoxville TN., Allison Day (John) of Bowling Green KY.; bothers, Max Womack, Jim Womack and Jerrell Womack; ten grandchildren, Adam, Tamara, Leah, Monica, Anna, Stephen Lamar, Alex, Jonathan, Richard and Chad; Several great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Jim Benfer officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Dardanelle.
