Douglas Edward Thayer age 79 of Havana passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at his home. He had a long battle with ALS.

Douglas was born June 27, 1943 in Kentfield, California to the late Paul & Lorraine Douglas Thayer. He was a Navy Veteran and a retired truck driver and cattle rancher. He was an avid golfer, and in his younger years he enjoyed paired roller skating and ABC Bowling. He owned a pet food store in California before moving to Arkansas in 1976. He had the kindest heart and many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Thayer and sister, Paula Thayer.

Survivors include his wife, of 31 years, Rayvella Thayer of the home; daughters, Suzanne Pombo of England, AR. and Kimberli (Tony) Mitchell of Ozark; step-children, Ray (Jeana) Ratliff of Fayetteville and Rachelle (Russell) Brown of Dardanelle; sister Lois Giono of San Anselmo, California; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandson.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday May 12, 2023 at Havana Cemetery with Pastor Colby Ball officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 11 at the Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville.
