Obituary

Doyle Wayne Fowler passed from this life Friday, September 20, 2024, at Mitchell's Nursing Home. He was born October 21, 1931, at Shark, Arkansas, to the late Johnny Eugene Fowler, and Maggie Lou Bennett Fowler. He was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and the Danville Class of 1950. He retired from Carmar Freezers in 1995 after working many years in refrigeration. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 ½ years, Dora Ann; sisters, Jewel Painter, Reba Guarino, Louise Tucker, Linda Vodrazka and brothers, Junior and James Fowler.

Survivors include his sons, Doyle Steven (Tressie), Joe Mike (Lindsay); daughter, Annette (Tony); sister, Betty Lewis; brother, Bobby (Lula); grandchildren, Leslee (Braxton), Chloe, Edie, Aydyn and greatgrandchildren, Tristan, Hannah, and Eliza.

After retiring you may have seen him traveling down highway 154 with one of his many four legged animals pulling him in his wagon or golf cart. He was known locally as the Horse Whisperer and took great pride in earning that title. He enjoyed telling his life's stories to anyone who showed an interest in listening.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Danville with Bro. Kenny Vosburg officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 9:00A.M. to 10:00A.M. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be private in Brearley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Fowler, Robert Lee Fowler, Mitchell Emberson, Tinker Hefner, Larry Underwood and Shane Vestal.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Murrial Smith, Mitchell's Nursing Home Family, Mark Maughn, Wayne Myers, Hoyt Lampkins and Luther Hance.

The family would like to thank the employees at Mitchell's Nursing Home for their loving care, Murrial Smith, Arkansas Hospice Team, and the local churches for visits and providing church services to the residents.

The family requests that contributions be made to Saddle Up for St. Jude Kids in honor of Doyle's support thru St. Judes Trail Ride.
