Obituary

Edna Mae Yingling age 83 of Bryant passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at Superior Health & Rehab in Conway.

Edna was born September 2, 1942 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late George Dooley and Lavada Mae Smith Newhart. Edna stayed at home with her boys until they were old enough to go to school. She then went to work at First State Bank in Plainview. She was a smiling face for all that walked through the door of the bank. During her time at Plainview and then later at Regions Bank she continued her education in the banking field. After retiring from Regions, she continued helping her husband, Travis, in their appraisal business. She was a generous person with a servant's heart. She not only gave to her friends and family, but she poured out to her community, working tirelessly with school programs, her churches, and the community food rooms. Edna was a wonderful hostess- hosting many showers and making many wedding cakes for young couples in the community. When Edna met Travis, she turned into a diehard Razorback fan. They had season tickets and loved tailgating with friends. The Razorbacks weren't the only team she supported – she cheered on her boys in all of their activities which included school sports, rodeos, stock car racing, and chuck wagon racing. Edna spent the first half of her life living in Plainview around her family and friends. Two of those special friends were Lola Smith and Theo Wiseman. After Edna met Travis, they built a beautiful home in Saline County where they became members of the First Pentecostal Church of Bryant. While at the church they added to their extended family with beautiful friends, Jerry& Dena Whitley, Marty Spurlock and his family, Regina Fields, Elsie Whitley, Francis Shope and many, many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Yingling; granddaughter, Robin Yates; siblings, George & Carol Dooley, Edward Dooley, Mary Burroughs, Deleta Ann Woods, brothers-in-law, Clifford Sheridan and Don Edwards; also her Yates family, Patsy Jean, Barbara Tarkington and Ethel Yates.
