Ed Johnson

Edward Earl "ED" Johnson age 79 of Russellville died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born March 31, 1939 at Arpelar, Oklahoma to the late Alvis Sydney Johnson and Gladys Cook Johnson. He was a United States Army Veteran, a truck driver, where he received a safety award for a million miles without an accident, an avid golfer and bowler and he loved to fish. Ed was a caring and giving person, if you were his friend he would give you the shirt off his back and one time he even pulled the keys out his pocket and gave his friend a car. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert Johnson, Bill Johnson, Grover Johnson, Carl Johnson and one sister, Joyce Keel.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Johnson of Russellville; one son, Chris Johnson and wife Curly of Copperopilis, California; four stepchildren, Jim Hocker and wife Melanie, Janet Taylor and husband Ernie, Roy Hocker and wife Debbie all of California, Rita Eggleston and Dennis Devet of Portland; two brothers, Tom Johnson and wife Jolene, Ronnie "Butch" Johnson and wife Jeanette and five grandchildren , Kevin Brown, James Hocker II and wife Charlie, Jason Bannister, Justin Bannister and wife Dyan, and Rylee Hocker.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
