Elmina Bell Smith age 92 of Plainview passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Mitchells Nursing Home. She was born December 3, 1922 in Ponca City Oklahoma to the late Mary Johnson. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Hood Smith; brother, John Smith; sisters, Carmendean Martin and Arlene Barnett. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Edna & J.B. Ellis Sr. of Plainview; grandchildren, J.B. Jr. (Nancy) Ellis of Danville; Michelle (Greg) Hill of Danville; Melody (Chris) Hance of Casa; great-grandchildren, Ethan Ellis, Kara Hill, Colby Rhoades, Caden Hance; sisters, Emma O'Bryant of Danville; Agnes Ritter of Guthrie, OK; Grace Ryan of Desert Hot Springs, CA; Frances Leedom of Ukiah, CA; Dorothy Rolen of Monroe, LA. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Danville Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert O'Bryant & Rev. Michael Ellis officiating. Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery.
