Elton W. "Ralph" Harrell, Jr., 67, of Russellville passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the John L. McCllelan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock after a lengthy battle with ALS.

Ralph was born August 28, 1951 in Houston, Texas.  He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge after serving two tours in Vietnam.  He married the love of his life, the former Janet Ward of Dardanelle on October 9, 1976.  He retired in 2018 as a truck driver and before that worked construction and nuclear outages as a member of the Local Carpenters Union 1836.  He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 20.

Ralph enjoyed watching NASCAR with his family, working around the house, and playing Solitaire to unwind.  He especially loved working in the church in any way that was needed and served the Lord faithfully as a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Russellville for many years.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins in Texas and his mother and father in law, Earl and Emily Ward of Dardanelle who always thought of him as their own.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet (Jan) Ward Harrell and his son, Joshua Earl Harrell, both of Russellville.
