Lee Rogers
Lee Rogers died December 31, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness due to Covid-19 virus. Lee Rogers was born Feb. 27 1939, in Rio Honda, Texas, to Sigle and Lessie Rogers. He was a graduate of Russellville High School in 1958; He graduated with a BA from Arkansas Tech University. He worked for the Division of Commerce & Industrial Development in Jefferson City, Missouri, worked for Murphy Oil Company and Frank Lyon Company. Lee raised Thoroughbred horses and Angus cattle. Lee was a talented wildlife artist and did commissioned art work. He was in the United States Army Reserve, member of the Yell County Wildlife Federation in Dardanelle, Ark and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents Sigle and Lessie Rogers, and a brother Arvale Rogers.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Hunt Rogers of 58 years, His daughter Elizabeth Carol Rogers of Russellville Arkansas. His nephew Brian Rogers (Dawn) of Virginia, their daughter Anna Rogers of Virginia, niece Laura (Jon) Nuzzaci of Connecticut, their son Jackson Nuzzaci, daughter Jessie Nuzzaci of Connecticut, and Matt Rogers, of New York. Sister-in-Law Rebecca Hunt Bergen, Brother-in-Law, Charley Hunt (Marietta), nephew J.J Hunt (Nathalie) children Ethan, Emily and Elliot Hunt, Cabot, nephew Joey Hunt (Leslie), daughter Pearl of Ft. Worth, niece, Sarah Bergen Dove, (Dewayne), Rev. Keith Dove of North Carolina and fiancé Rev. Leigh Curl, Texas, nephew William Bergen (Julie) of Fort Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, Arkansas with Rev. Brian Brock officiating.
