Emmett Franklin Thomas age 69 of Clarksville died Sunday, September 4, 2011. He was born April 23, 1942 in Seymour, Texas to Virgil and Corabelle Thomas. He was a member of Yell County law enforcement for more than 20 years. He also served with the Yell county Mounted Patrol. He was a Licensed Funeral Director for Cornwell Funeral Homes and Deputy Coroner for Yell County. He was also a lifetime charter member of Boyce Woods VFW Post #3141in Dardanelle.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lewis Ann Thomas, his father Virgil Thomas, both of Clarksville, brothers Aubrey (Pat) Thomas of Clarksville, and Lynn Keith Thomas of Delaware, sister-in-law, Mary Webb Fields of Conway. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Corabelle Thomas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 1 to 2 P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle Ark. Graveside services will follow at 2 PM at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Pallbearers will be Leroy Choate, Tommy Gleason, Harlon Davis, David Guerian, Jonathan OKelley, Ronnie Spears.

Honorary Pallbearers are Neil Thomas, Marty Thomas, Tommy Riddell, and Allen Fields
