Ervin Theodore "E.T." McConnell age 84 of Belleville, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.
He was born November 28, 1932 at Bluffton to the late Thomas Jack and Willie May Dobbs McConnell. He worked in the pulpwood and logging business until he retired. He was a volunteer for 19 years for the Plainview Fire Department. During his early years, he enjoyed umpiring and would drive the bus of boys to the baseball games. He also love drive a "Ford" stock car and was pretty good. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to Memory Lane to visit with the guys, mowing the lawn and always had a large garden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Gaylor McConnell, his parents, eleven brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his sweetheart of 23 years Sheryl Lampkins; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Carol Crites (Larry) of Dardanelle; sons, and daughters-in-law, Billy "Corky" and Debbie McConnell of Ranger; Jimmy McConnell of Plainview; Troy and Lisa McConnell of Birta; sister and brother-in-law, Winnie and Richard Rubo of Perryville; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on Kingston Road by the Rev. Bruce Swanson and Rev. Frankie McConnell. Burial will be at the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 pm at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church before the srevice.
Pallbearers include Ricky Crites, Bentley Crites, John McConnell, Ross Vandover, Doyle Buckman, and Ryan McElroy.
Honorary pallbearers include Melvin Bottoms, Dr. Phillip Tippin, Bill Yates, Bobby Moore, Leonard Hudson, Bill Gilkey, Dale Knight and Chuck Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home 220 John Babish Lane Russellville AR 72801
