Obituary

Fred Potter Frederick Harold Potter age 91 of Russellville was called home to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Russellville Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born November 10, 1923 at Ravenden, Arkansas to the late Dewey and Florence Dotson Potter. He was a Christian, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he flew 33 missions as a machinist gunner in a B-24. Fred was also a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and played bass in Several Gospel bands. After the war he married his sweetheart, Christine, and raised two daughters, eventually moving back to Arkansas to work for the Postal Service. He was known as a hard worker who loved his family, his God and his bass guitar. He was truly a member of the greatest generation. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Christine Potter. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Potter Thorpe and husband Doug of Virginia, Jo Anne Gaston and husband Tim of Dardanelle; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:00A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Appleton. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle.
